Joan Miro (20 April 1893 -- 25 December 1983) was a Spanish painter, sculptor, ceramicist, printmaker, and representative of Surrealism.
Miro was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1893, the son of a goldsmith and jeweler. Miro was very fond of the natural scenery since childhood.
